 Description: | I bought this truck and drove it for a few years. I had plans to re-store as close to 100% original as possible with a few custom modifications.
In 2000, I started by having the engine (Buick 350 Dauntless V8) rebuilt. I then had the GM TH400 transmission rebuilt as well by checking and re-sealing the DANA-20 transfer case. I re-cored the radiator, had 2 new rear springs and 2 new frong springs put in, new shocks, hub, bearing and spindle serviced, and put it on a new set of 33 super swampers.
In 2001 I started restoration on the frame & body first by removing all parts, box, door, etc. and sandblasting them individually from the frame to the headlight covers. After priming, I ran into some money problems and had to put the project on-hold until 2005 during which the truck was stored in a covered barn. In 2005, I was able to have the project about 80% complete. I added new American racing aluminum rims, new windshield and sliding rear window, spray-in bedliner and a new paint job.
The truck still needs to have the interior completely restored, including mounting bucket seats. A new steering column installed, and a new wiring kit. The tailights need to be installed as well as the outside door handles.
This truck has not been driven since 2001.
The truck was stored outside for 1 year after the paint-job was completed and has since been stored in a covered barn.
Never in a million years did I think I would sell this truck but with a baby on the way and other life changes happening, I am in need of selling some of my toys.
Seller has all receipts from work completed on restoration.
