Description: | 1986 Jeep CJ7. Clean, solid body & frame. Ford 5.0 Mass Air EFI from 91 Mustang w/34K mi. K&N air filter, 160amp alternator, Optima red top battery. Wiring harness is fully integrated with all factory Jeep and Ford connections. Factory 20+ gal. poly fuel tank with in-tank high-pressure fuel pump. All engine plumbing done with AN fittings and hard factory/ stainless braided lines. BBK Mustang chrome shorty headers and 2 ½ custom dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. ZF S5-42 five speed truck trans with 5.7:1 first gear and overdrive. Hydraulic clutch with factory master/ slave cylinders. Braided stainless line. Factory Dana 300 tranfer case with Advance Adapters adapter to trans. Rear CV and front Long Travel driveshafts from Tom Woods. Full Ό steel belly pan/crossmember under running gear. 4 Spring Under Axle suspension using wrangler-width springs in front. M.O.R.E. Shackle Reversal and Rancho 9000 long travel shocks. Greaseable heavy-duty spring shackles. JKS front sway bar quick disconnects. 1 Daystar poly body mounts. Dana 44 rear with 4.56 gears and ARB Air Locker. Dana 30 front with 4.56 gears, Warn hub conversion, and ARB Air Locker. Dynatrac U-bolt flip kit on both axles. Tie rod & drag link flipped to top of steering knuckles. 33x12.50 BFG Mud Terrains with 75% tread on 15x8 American Racing Outlaw II wheels. Full size spare on matching wheel. Master Power dual diaphragm power disk/drum brakes. Factory power steering with Flaming River steering shaft and M.O.R.E. steering box brace. 6-point cage based on 95 wrangler rear hoop for rear seat shoulder belts. I have original CJ7 roll bar also. AC compressor ready for OBA. All gauges work, w/factory style tach. Front EMPI suspension seats with original fold & tumble rear seat. Factory hard top/doors and full length bikini. Sony CD player. Pioneer speakers.
I bought this Jeep totally stock in 1999. Stage West in Glenwood Springs, CO built the axles, with the ARBs. I bought the complete engine from Colorado Mustang Specialists in Denver 3 years ago and it always starts/runs great. When I changed the drivetrain I installed a new factory instrument cluster and the odo now reads 4985 mi.
I also have the factory dash pad, original speedo, full carpet kit, and a bunch of other parts which go with the Jeep. Jeep needs nothing; rides great on the road, straight down the highway. I chose all of my parts carefully and it all works seamlessly. Sounds sweet with dual exhaust existing at rear corners. Goes anywhere off road.
The body of the Jeep is very clean and solid. There are a few (like 2) minor spots of surface rust on the tub, but nothing that could not be sanded out. Its only cosmetic. I planned on painting the Jeep this winter, but now Im selling it.
I thought Id have this Jeep forever, and I built it with that mindset. My family has outgrown it though so my plans must change. Oh well, its worth it!!
