 Description: | 1967 CJ 6 Retro Mod (20" longer then CJ5)
Complete rebuild from ground up. started with Ca body with little to no rust. I built this as a project with my son for his late grandfather that raced one similar in the 1967 Baja 1000. My wife likes the Rubicon Unlimited better so something has to go. I can send images to anyone seriously interested. This thing will climb a wall and runs perfectly. I have only had it out a few times so it is basically just broke in.
Power- 225 Buick V6 with Kenne Bell Intake, valve covers. Headers and Magnaflow mufflers, Fluidyne radiator with puller electric fans, Power steering, Hydro Boost brakes, PS cooler, Holly 600cfm carb with vent mods, billet air cleaner. TH350 auto trans with Art Car cable shifter. Thermo switch controlled trans cooler. Currie built Dana 300 Transfer case with twin stick. battery lock out switch.
Chassis-Advanced Frame Works frame, Currie YJ 2.5" springs, shackle reverse in front. Currie built Dana 30 in front with Warren hubs and disc brakes, oversized chromoly tie rods and heim ends, Currie Ford 9" in rear with Detroit locker.
Body- Full original steel body and fenders that is perfect. Fenders are bobbed slightly. Rear wheel wells are opened up slightly for greater articulation. Gen-Right rear bolt on fender flares. Larger 70's model windshield with low mounted wipers. The color is "BRIGHT" Yellow with black bedliner inside.
Interior- Beard seats with adjustable headrests and Beard bench in rear with adjustable headrests. Passenger seat still tilts forward for under-seat access and driver is adjustable. Lowrance Baja540c GPS. All Autometer Phantom gauges, Custom aluminum dash with glove box. Full 8 point cage with custom black top. This is made out of the same hi quality fabric the Porsche convertibles are made from. Tilt billet steering column and grant wheel. Foot activated parking brake.
Others - Stainless full tank, stainless mounted ice chest, stainless rear storage box. Second in-floor storage box. Tail gate latches are custom bolt action type. Currie bumpers and swing out tire carrier. Ramsey 9500 winch with Synthetic rope. Goodyear MTR 12.50X15 -35 with Superior aluminum wheels with OMF beadlocks. Flush mounted stainless LED tail lights. Full trans and transfercase skid plates. Custom aluminum half doors with stainless latches. |
