Description: | 1983 CJ 8 Scrambler California legal 4.3 liter Chevy V6 conversion, with four speed automatic, seats 6 adults, front and rear lockers The following items are stock / original to this vehicle: original tub, frame, doors, full length fiberglass hard top (side window assemblies and lift gate are completely new), Front fenders, steering gear box, Dana 300 transfer case (connected to the transfer case is Advanced Adapters clocking ring and their Dana 300 to 700R4 transmission adapter) Axles: Front: International Harvester, Scout II Dana 44, 4.88 ring and pinion, ARB air locker, inner C's have been cut and rotated, by Currie Enterprises, for six degrees of positive caster, Outer knuckles are from Tri County Gear with their cross-over steering arms and pitman arm. Tie-rod and drag-link are custom made using Ford truck tie-rod ends. Spindles, rotors, calipers, locking hubs, and stub shafts are all off of a full size Jeep Cherokee Dana 44 Rear: Full size Jeep Cherokee Dana 44, 4.88 ring and pinion, spool locker Suspension: Front: Custom built Jeep YJ springs in the spring over configuration, hung from an Avalanche Engineering shackle reversal system. Custom shock hoops with Fox Shocks - these shocks are rebuildable and have adjustable valving. Rear: Custom built Jeep YJ springs in the spring over configuration, FabTech shocks. Front spring hanger has been ramped. Tires : 35” BFG All terrain on 16” aluminum wheels with full size spare AND a set of 37” Mud terrain on 15” steel wheels Engine and Transmission: 1991 Chevrolet 4.2 V6, from a Jimmy S10 Blazer. 700R4 transmission, was bolted to this engine in original donor car and was completely rebuilt with performance enhancements late 2007 . Radiator: Griffin aluminum, cross-flow with Black Magic electric fan, purchased together from Novak. Manually controlled fan switch on dash. Fuel tank: 32 gallons, from Arrow Tanks. With thick skid plate built into bottom. OEM fuel pump and sending unit in tank. Intake: K & N air cleaner, CARB sticker is on the top of the grill by the radiator. Exhaust: Custom 2" with Flow Master Battery: Duel battery tray with a marine battery control switch. Winch: Harbor Freight 8000 lb (Ramsey knockoff). Plug for remote control is located under passenger side front fender.
Interior: Dash: Stainless steel, one of a kind custom built. Steering column: Early 1990's Chevrolet, Seats: Front seats are out of a 1991 Jeep YJ, Middle seat is a brand new Best Top seat. Rear seats are brand new Best Top Fold and tumble split seats. Roll cage: Front section is 1 3/4" 120 wall, rear section (behind driver seats) is OEM, with some added 1 ½” 120 wall. Cage has been powder coated. - Transfer case shift knob: Granite rock from the Merced River in Yosemite National Park. Custom built
Body Protection: Rocker panel guards: Custom built. Rear Bumper: Modified Currie Enterprises bumper with heavy duty tire carrier. Custom built corner protection. Front Bumper: Custom built from ¼” thick steel channel with shackles. Miscellaneous: Rock lights: Under body. If you've ever been on the Rubicon tell 2:00 AM you'll understand.
